Got a Question? Ask Directly

There’s a new way to ask a question, and it’s directly from your profile page.


If you have a question you need answered, you can now ask it, comment on it, or answer another question by clicking on the “Questions” tab on your profile.

Create a Catalog on Your Android

We know how much you love creating catalogs – a lot! We’re now bringing this feature to mobile devices so you can create catalogs on the go.

That’s right, we’re giving you the capability to create and display catalogs directly from your Android device. You’ll also be able to easily explore other catalogs while you create, edit, and add items to your own.

ShopYourWay is serving up some amazing goodies to make the site more informative, helpful, and of course, easier to find the things you are looking for.

How do you feel about that?

This week we’ve completed launch on our amazing Product Sentiment Score!  Ever wonder what other people are browsing, sharing, liking, and purchasing? Well we’re providing this information up front to help you find and buy the products that will suit your needs the best.

Product Sentiment Score is an indication of how other ShopYourWay users feel about a product based on their activity in connection to that product. It uses a number of indicators to calculate a total score between 1 – 10, with a score of 10 being an awesome product.

A product is either interesting, desirable, or a top seller based on several indicators, including the number of times an item was shared, liked, wanted, added to a catalog, or purchased.

It’s an especially great tool if you are comparing products. You can see what other people bought, how they like it, and easily find and scroll through that product’s reviews by shoppers just like you.

To find the Product Sentiment Score, go to the full page view of a product and scroll down to the product description area. Here you will find a brief Community Sentiment score indicating how the product scored. To get more details about why a product got the score it did, all you have to do is click on the Community Sentiment box to access the full Product Sentiment Score breakdown.

So, start looking for products and make sure to check out its score to see what other people think to get help deciding on your next purchase!

Our second exciting feature that we are hard at work on is the new Q & A section. You can find this new feature on the main menu by clicking on the “Answers” tab.

Here you’ll notice several areas to find different kinds of questions and answers: Top Questions, You Asked, Friends Asked, Ask a Question, and Show All Questions.

Whether your question is about products, “How To” on ShopYourWay, shopping, the best place to find something, entertainment related, or just for fun, you can get it answered here.

What’s also great about Q & A is that it’s a place to socialize and meet other shoppers. Strike up a conversation about sports, and you are sure to find someone either answering or also asking about your interests.

It’s fun to use, easy to answer, and is sure to get your inquisitive side asking!

Mutual fun

How can you make new friends? When it comes to social networks it’s about finding people who are into the same stuff you’re into. Clearly, if you both like the same things, you’re probably going to find some topics of conversation, right?

That is why one of our main goals is to get people with similar interests together on The latest and greatest is what we call “mutual boxes”.

Check them out on a friend’s profile page: each box essentially tells a story, about the items you and other users both own, about your interests, and so on.

There are also mutual help boxes – encouraging friends who own products to help friends who indicated they want those same items. This is the first step on the way to new friendships and helpful shopping advice.

Not the Same Old Story

We’ve got some new story types for you. We keep bringing news about the latest trends and items across the web in a variety of subject. This time we’re talking about four of those.

Video games are first. All the latest for you console cowboys out there.

Next up, for people who prefer the fresh air over playing Tekken in their living room. Outdoor activities will give you great tips about hiking gear and all that out-of-the-city stuff.

Lawn and garden is for you gardeners and home owners who like a little green around their house. And last but not least: Tools & DIY will help you keep the house in top condition.

United We Stand

As we told you in the previous post, the new profile page is where it’s at – all the cool stuff under one roof. And we have no intention to stop: We’ve added a couple of cool new features to your profile. Take a look.

First and foremost we added a nifty little tab called interests. The idea is simple and smart: all of the stuff you follow or showed interest in presented in one place, combining great looks with ease of use.

You can even filter those interests by brands, stores, categories etc. making it even easier and quicker to find what you want. Cool.

Another new tab is badges – we took the old badges page, gave it a bit of a face lift and added it to the new profile page.

Filter of Power

Now, let’s leave the new and glorious profile and move to the homepage. We have some exciting news there as well: filters!

Not sure what we mean? Take a look at the top of the page: you now have a list of tabs that let you filter the page and see exactly what you want to see. Want to check out images and videos only? No problem. Is it deals you’re after? Just click the right filter.

Two of those deserve special attention: the questions tab collects all question related items – polls, question asked by users etc. – in one place. The knowledge tab is a collection of user reviews, product news and Manage my Life articles.

You get the idea – maximum content at a minimal effort. Enjoy the site!

It’s Your Choice to Make

The real secret in this age of way-too-much-information is filtering and sorting. That’s what you need to master: how to turn that huge tidal wave of data into neatly divided small streams of info.

That’s what we’re about this week. Sorting and filtering, helping you see exactly what you want to see.

Here we go: first thing’s first – catalogs. Or to be more precise, catalogs in pages. One of the great things about ShopYourWay is the ability to organize items relevant to a store or brand page in catalogs. The page manager can do it – and so can any follower of the page.

Say you go to Kmart’s brand page, and take a look at the catalogs. Some of them were created by the page manager, others by users. Not the same thing, right? Click on the arrow on the right and choose what you’d like to see – community catalogs, or those created by the brand manager. Nifty, isn’t it?

Same thing with questions. What would you like to see – questions created by fellow shoppers, or by the page manager? Now you can easily choose.

Look at the Pretty Pictures

Remember infographics? The lovely format which lets you learn lots of new stuff about the brand or item by using visual means? Well now it’s on our product pages as well. Check out the product you want and see how many people of a certain age group or gender are interested in it as well.

And last but not least – one of the key factors to all the stuff we listed above is following. Following a cool fellow shopper, a brand you like or a catalog you find interesting. The more stuff you follow, the more interesting your feed will become.

So – in order to make following easier we added it to the hover options. See something you like? Hover your mouse cursor over it, and check out the elegant little menu of actions that magically appears. If you can follow the item, a follow option will be there. One click and you’re done.
